Last year we launched the Jefferson Community Center inside Jefferson Junior/Senior High School to connect students and parents with resources to help them overcome the roadblocks of poverty. Throughout the school year parents and student have become more comfortable with the space and now we are excited to offer programming during June and July for parents, recent Jefferson graduates and community members. During the summer parents lose their connection to school resources so keep the center open is a huge benefit to families.

This summer we hope to offer the following services in the Jefferson Community Center:

  • Cooking classes for parents
  • Gardening classes
  • Computer lab for students and parents
  • Parent support for parents of preschoolers
  • Help for graduates preparing for college
  • Connection to numerous resources

We are hoping to raise $10,000 by the end of May to keep the Jefferson Community Center open this summer and offer these great resources and programming. So far we have raised $2,050 toward this project. Thanks to all who have donated so far!

Our goal is to find 100 partners that are willing to donate $100 each to this important project.
