This spring has separated students from teachers and their school that they love. One of the staff members at Molholm asked how their staff could be involved in food deliveries over the summer as a way to stay connected to students at their school. So this summer as we continue our Saturday afternoon deliveries of food boxes from the Action Center, we wanted to provide a way for interested school teachers and staff to help. Teachers and school staff can volunteer to call families on Wednesdays or delivery food boxes on Saturdays. Because this is summer break for teachers are staff, we created a sign up for them to volunteer for one spot during the summer if they are interested.
We’ve seen already that area students get so excited when food is delivered. Our hope is that seeing a school staff member from their school will heighten the excitement and provide a relational connection to their school over the summer.
