Dear Neighbors, Partners, and Friends,

When we first began our journey as Edgewater Collective, our vision was simple yet profound: to walk alongside our community, build strong connections, and create opportunities where everyone in our community could thrive. Over the years, because of your trust, passion, and partnership, that vision has grown beyond our Edgewater community.

Today, I am proud to share an inspiring new milestone in our shared story. Edgewater Collective is officially becoming Esperanza Collective.

This change comes from a place of deep reflection with our community. The heart of our daily work takes place alongside local Spanish-speaking families who bring immense resilience, vitality, and heart to our community. As we looked toward our future, we wanted a name that authentically honors the people we work alongside every day.

Esperanza means hope. It is a word that transcends language, capturing the shared dream we all hold for our children, our families, and our neighborhoods. By bringing Esperanza together with Collective, our new name reflects both the vibrant identity of our community and the strength we have when we work together.

While our name is changing, our core commitment to you remains exactly the same:

• Our Board & Leadership: Our board remains unchanged. I am honored to return to serving as your Executive Director in January so we can build a solid financial foundation to hire a Latina executive director in the next 2-3 years. 
• Our Programs & Services: Every program, workshop, event, and resource will continue without interruption.

Name changes are milestones, but our true identity has always been defined by the relationships we build with you. Thank you for being the heart of this organization, for sharing your hopes with us, and for building a brighter future for our community every single day.
