One of our early goals with Edgewater Collective was to educate and empower parents to take an active role in their child’s education. Over the past two years we have noticed that the language barrier has hindered our grassroots efforts to build parent networks in our community. For this reason, we have decided to hire a part-time, bi-lingual Community Liaison to connect with Spanish speaking parents and community members.

COMMUNITY LIAISON
Job Description
The Community Liaison reports to the Executive Director, and assists the Executive Director in connecting with community members and parents to build a grassroots foundation of partnership and empowerment for the Jefferson Success Pathway
Duties
Program Development
- Assist in building parent networks that support the work of the Jefferson Success Pathway
- Mentor parent leaders to engage in their local schools and train other parents to be involved in the schools and their children’s education
Communications
- Translate Edgewater Collective marketing materials and website into Spanish
- Act as a translator for various Edgewater Collective meetings and events
Qualifications
- Supports and believes in the mission of Edgewater Collective
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Experience in training and leading teams of adults
Position Specifics
- 10 hours per week
- $15 an hour
- Contract will be June through August 2015 with an option of continuing into the fall
