Thanks to a partnership with Brothers Redevelopment and the City of Edgewater, we are building on the housing supports that we started offering in April. We have hired two part-time, bilingual Community Housing Advocates to connect Edgewater residents to the Edgewater Resident Assistance Program and other assistance programs.
We have hired Esther Valdez and Oscar Fonseca to help us in this effort. Esther Valdez was most recently the principal at Rose Stein International Elementary and a finalist for Colorado Principal of the Year. Oscar Fonseca currently works in the Title I Office at Jeffco Public Schools and is the wrestling coach at Jefferson Junior/Senior High School. Esther Caldera is also working with us part-time as a Parent Navigator to mobilize area parents, connect them to resources and provide leadership opportunities for them.
We are committed to working together with partners to ensure that residents, schools and businesses are not left behind during this pandemic. Now is the time to create new, equitable systems that provide avenues for diverse voices to lead and be part of the solution.
