Congratulations to Jefferson Junior/Senior High School graduate and future Colorado State University student Casey Deyanira for winning the Jefferson Computer Scholarship! Today we went to Target and shopped for a computer and printer to help make her transition to college successful.

Here is how the computer scholarship worked: Each time a student is accepted to a school or is rewarded a scholarship, they were entered into a drawing for a computer. If a student’s name is drawn at the end of the semester and they confirm they are enrolled in college, then they will receive the computer. The hope is that this computer scholarship can be used as a practical reward for motivating students to be proactive in the college applying process. We are hoping that this initiative can be part of a bigger initiative to create a college-minded culture at Jefferson.

Special thank you to the Edgewater Business on the Edge members who made this scholarship possible. Business on the Edge is a group of local business owners committed to networking, collaborating and growing as business leaders.
