How do we measure success in education?

Opinions around testing and Common Core abound, but one thing we can agree on is that we need to find a way to measure success in education. Without measures of success, we can’t keep each other accountable and ultimately this won’t help children progress from cradle to career.

Our success pathway in the Jefferson Area is built around celebrating and scaling successful programs and projects. The first step is discovering where the needs, gaps and resources are along this pathway.

Our Leadership Council and Community Partners are currently deciding upon milestone goals and indicators along this cradle to career pathway. Once we have these goals and indicators, we will release a baseline report on how our community is doing in regards to these goals.

Below you can see a simplified view of what these goals and indicators could look like. As you can see below, some data is publicly available while other data points will have to be discovered together with our Community Partners.
