Today we learned that we have received a $50,000 grant from the Daniels Fund to support our work with the Jefferson Success Pathway. This is the third year that we have received a grant from Daniels for this important cradle to career pathway.

The Jefferson Success Pathway is focused on bringing partners together to make data-driven decisions about how to collectively help all students in the 80214 area of Jefferson County succeed from cradle to career. With 9 in 10 students in the 80214 area schools facing the roadblocks of poverty, it is essential that partners work together with schools to help students succeed academically.

This school year Edgewater Collective and its partners are focused on the following:

  • Focusing Collaborative Action Teams on three main areas where students have shown a need for improvement: Early Literacy, Elementary Math and College/Career Preparation
  • Directing Collaborative Action Teams to dive deep into student achievement data, focus on the right questions and implement specific strategies to help schools change practices as needed to drive student achievement and growth
  • Developing specific achievable and stretch targets and timelines for each cradle to career milestone for 2018, 2019 and 2020.
  • Developing more effective fundraising strategies for successful programs and increase financial investment in funding the backbone organization by key community partners in Jefferson County

We are so thankful for the partnership with Daniels Fund and their commitment to see educational success for area students.
